The Australian “OZ” Slasher was designed to be a well rounded traditional longboard. Inspired by the young Australian surfers and designers of the late 60’s. The OZ Slasher whips, trims, turns and perches. The Slasher has a pulled back wide point, neutral rails and simple bottom. Perfect for beach breaks or adding some turns and slashes to your logging game.
The OZ Slasher is in the same family as Nat Young’s “Magic Sam” and the boards that the best Australian longboarders were riding in the mid to late 60’s. This design has some qualities that set it apart from other boards. The wide point is pulled back a bit, the tail block is narrower than most logs and the bottom is flat for extra drive. These elements combined with a neutral rail make this boards one of the best turning longboards out there hence the name “OZ Slasher”. CJ has adapted his surfing to this design and is now doing the best, most dynamic surfing of his life on his beloved “Australian Slashers”. CJ’s personal recommendation is to ride the lighter smaller version if you surf a beachbreak and the longer one with more weight if you surf point breaks. Both designs and weights are favorites of CJs.
